Woodshield true wood protection by Jotun has been specially formulated to provide flexibility and deep penetration for exterior wooden surfaces. It offers twice the UV protection through hindered amine light stabilizers, which minimises colour fading and protects the wood from cracking, peeling and erosion. A coat of paint lasts for twice as long with its specially formulated pigments that forms a protective barrier in harsh weather, while having a low odour, an easy to clean, fast drying and waterproof surface. Suitable for all exterior wooden surfaces such as doors, trims, frames, trellis, fences, railing, roofs, windows and balconies, Woodshield is available in both high gloss and matt finish.

Which means that you can now protect all your exterior wood for twice as long.Woodshield Exterior Varnish is a Clear coating and is available in Gloss & Matt finishes.

For new applications:
Sand the surface of the wood thoroughly with #220 sandpaper. Wipe the wood surface with a cloth to remove dust and particles before painting. Apply first coat of Woodshield. For application of the second coat, repeat the above steps after the first coat has dried.
Optional step:
Apply 1 coat of Jotun Wood Preserver before first coat of Woodshield to protect the wood against termites and fungus.

Recommended use
For interior on all kinds of untreated hardwood, softwood, plywood, chip board, etc. or as a topcoat in system with Jotun Woodpreserver. Can also be used on wood previously treated with other wood protections(Coatings).
Surface preparation
The substrate must be clean and dry. Surface contamination is to be removed by thoroughly rubbing down in the direction of the wood grain, using a suitable abrasive paper and dusted off.
Other surfaces
The coating may be used on other substrates. Please contact your local Jotun office for more information.
